Platform Engineer (m/w/d)

YOUR MISSION

Screen17 has a fantastic opportunity for a Platform Engineer to proactively support the growth of our company. This is a role for someone who is passionate about data and software engineering, big data technologies, and cloud-native DataOps. As our new Platform Engineer, you should be a fast learner, enjoy simplifying complex issues to drive the implementation or improvements of solutions, and feel comfortable to closely work with a variety of stakeholders.

YOUR TASKS

• Analytical thinking to conceptualize and implement creative solutions across different layers of our Solution-Stack
• Development and maintenance of system components (microservices, data management systems, cloud infrastructure)
• Prototyping and proof of concepts – that is, rapid translation of new ideas and feedback into system features in tight collaboration with other teams.
• Occasionally sourcing and/or pre-processing of ESG and financial data. For example, mining of publicly available datasets, web scraping, text mining, or natural language processing
• Writing and reviewing technical documentation on system design, cloud/data architecture, and revisions thereof

YOUR PROFILE

• Good knowledge of Python and the related ecosystems for (big) data engineering
• Knowledge of AWS cloud services and infrastructure as code tools like Terraform
• Experience with CI/CD processes and related best practices
• First experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration
• Ideally you have already worked with or are curious about using Apache Spark, Snowflake or a similar DWH solution
• Bachelor or Master's in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Natural/Social Science, or another field with a technical focus
• Highly proficient in spoken and written German and English
• Interest to learn about the Sustainable Finance industry
• Valid work and visa permit for Germany/Europe
