Team Description

Our twelve-person packaging development team in Bielefeld is passionately committed to the development of sustainable packaging. We are currently looking for someone to join our team who is just as enthusiastic about sustainable packaging as we are and would like to set an example for the industry together with us. Your Responsibilities

  • As (Lead) Engineer Packaging Development (m/f/d), you will be responsible for the development and evaluation of sustainable and economical packaging solutions in compliance with quality, trade, consumer, legal and environmental requirements. Beyond that you will be responsible for optimizing existing packaging.
  • Doing so, you will identify potential for harmonization and standardization across locations for both packaging materials and packaging formats and manage their implementation.
  • In close cooperation with cross-functional project teams and external stakeholders, you will coordinate development projects in the packaging materials and packaging technology sector. You will keep an eye on the market and act in accordance with the Dr. Oetker Sustainability Charter.
  • As a strategic contact person, you will be responsible for the product ranges assigned to you. This includes managing and monitoring international packaging concepts as well as coordinating and assisting with packaging-related issues.
  • Furthermore, you will support the plants in production tests with new packaging materials or material alternatives and work out the necessary quality standards.

What you bring

  • You have a degree with a focus on packaging technology / packaging development or similar.
  • In addition to several years of professional experience in handling flexible and dimensionally stable packaging materials, you also have extensive project management experience.
  • You have good knowledge of SAP and common MS Office programs.
  • Furthermore, you have excellent communication and networking skills, which enable you to lead and work in international and interdisciplinary teams as a team player.
  • You have remarkable organizational skills with a structured and independent way of working, characterized by analytical and entrepreneurial thinking.
  • Your other strengths include your creativity, initiative and assertiveness.
  • Very good written and spoken German and English skills and a willingness to travel internationally are also part of your profile.
