Within the Innovation Department the position holder reports to the Manager Research. The position holder is responsible for:
- Responsible for new product/process development activities related to compression molding, fiber reinforced plastics (composites) and other lightweight materials & process technologies
- Responsible for project definition and execution in accordance with the standard innovation project process incl. budget and capacity planning, project reviews
- Initiate and management of public funded projects with external partners
- Ensure establishment of specifications and procurement of equipment for prototype production
- Create and execution of prototype related Design Verification Plans (DVP) internal and with external partners
- Cooperate with external partners & universities/institutes
- Actively support of the ideation process and IP related activities
- Support EHS activities within the department to ensure both a safe work place and adoption of safe working practices
- Support composite related CAE activites within Kautex
- Supervise and coordinate trainee and undergraduate projects
To Be The Right Candidate, You Need:
- Technical University Degree (MS) in Plastics Technology/Processing, Material Sciences or equivalent
- Practical experience & technology knowhow within the field of plastics processing and composite materials
- Network in the composite/plastic industry (tool and machine manufactures, material suppliers, research institutes) preferred
- Practical experience in R+D, ideally in automotive industry preferred
- Practical experience in project management preferred
- International experience preferred
- Fluent German and English language skills
