Responsibilities

Make an impact

  • As Controls Software Engineer you’re responsible for the concept, architecture, implementation, testing and commissioning of control software for our robotic applications.
  • Also one of your tasks is to deliver a fully working controls software to the realization projects. You’ll also be part of our onsite team during the commissioning and ramp up phase of the projects. Your tasks also include developing customer project-specific software, and you’ll support projects integration both onsite and from office in Dortmund.
  • Furthermore you’ll deliver customized project software by project need and support the project.
  • You’ll elaborate concepts in a mechatronic way of thinking by including all interfaces/stakeholders (e.g. mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and robotic engineer) in the development.
  • In addition to that you’ll proactively explores new fields, technologies or concepts in the world of controls. Likewise you’ll follow the development process and helps to develop, introduce or improve the development tools.

Application Requirements

What you need to succeed

  • You’ve successfully completed your Electrical/Automation Engineering Bachelor, Master, Technician or comparable experience.
  • You’ve experience in programming with Structured Text language and also within standard controls development as specification, design implementation and testing experience within motion and safety application.
  • Your profile proves itself through very good technical understanding, interest in and understanding of software and robotic solutions as well as solid understanding of processes and abstract thinking.
  • You can draw on knowledge from 3-4 years of professional experience.
  • You're able to read and interpret electrical schematic drawings. In addition practical experience of electrical/controls engineering & electrical installation is part of your CV.
  • You’ve sound knowledge of at least one of the following hardware platforms: Beckhoff TwinCAT or Siemens Tia Portal.
  • The knowledge of Industrial Ethernet and modern field buses (EtherCAT, PROFINET, PROFIBUS, AS-i), AC drives and design experience of HMI systems would be an asset.
  • Furthermore, you should be business fluent in English and have good German skills.
  • You're already travelling to our customers more frequently and internationally.
