Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • In this position, you will be part of our EASA approved design organization, which conducts aircraft and helicopter modification and certification projects for international customers
  • Your focus will be on avionic and microelectronic systems (PCBA), which are the backbone of our activities
  • Your main activity will be to convert customer requirements into system concepts and architecture, parts and components selection, system specifications and requirements, contribute to compliance demonstration and define respective test strategies
  • You will be part of a small, dynamic, multi-cultural and transnational team with the background of a large international group

Main Activities:

  • Conceptual design for microelectronic systems (PCBA) including definition of functions and interfaces, selection of main components, creation of schematics and management of suppliers for layout, prototype production, assembly and test
  • Integration design for avionic or electrical systems/components into aircraft or helicopter as STC or minor change
  • Creation of conceptual design, system architecture and specification, definition of interfaces and requirements, creation of test plans (laboratory, ground and flight test)
  • Creation of System Safety Assessments in accordance with ARP4761
  • Definition, management and tracking of requirements (V&V)
  • Support to the definition of certification programs and creation of compliance demonstration documentation
  • Equipment qualification (preparation/support of environmental qualification tests DO-160)
  • Creation of development documentation (ARP4754, DO-178, DO-254) as well as supplements to the aircraft documentation
  • Integration and test support at customer or MRO (Part 145) site

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Microelectronics / Systems Engineering or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position ideally in the aeronautics industry
  • Very good knowledge of microelectronic and avionic systems and with deep understanding of system architecture, system interfaces and requirements engineering
  • Good knowledge of certification regulations, system safety assessments and system development standards (ARP4754/4761, DO178, DO254,..), qualification to work as CVE would be a plus
  • Knowledge of microelectronic development and simulation tools would be a plus
  • Good written and verbal command of the English language, German would be a plus
  • Autonomous, accurate and reliable way of working with focus on quality as top priority but yet flexible and “hands-on” mentality
  • Mobility (based in Hamburg, Germany, and willing to travel and work at customer site for limited durations)
  • Must be EU national with residence in Germany and willing to pass security screening
