System Performance Engineer (m/f/d)

Your Tasks

In this position, you will work in collaboration with architects and subsystem engineers on tasks like:

• Modelling of the Satellite’s imaging geometry and analysis of the geometric performances
• Pointing performance engineering on subjects like microvibration, thermo-elastic deformation and others.
• Implementation of the performance calibration and development of the associated software tools.
• Performance testing at various levels (Satellite, Platform, Units) including the test evaluation.
• Algorithm development for data processing and simulation focused on satellite level aspects such as geometry.
• Implementation and Maintenance of the Satellite Characterization and Calibration Database used for the on-ground data processing

Your Qualifications

• University degree in physics, aerospace engineering, remote sensing, or similar
• Professional experience in one or more of the following categories is advantageous
  • Satellite design, in particular optical and/or radar missions
  • Design & simulation of control systems, multibody systems, mechanisms or similar
  • Geometric performances of Earth observation space missions
  • End-to-End Simulation of Earth-Observation and/or Science Data
• Experience in programming (e.g. MATLAB, Python)
• Self-managed, solution-oriented and pro-active working style
• Ability to work in a team
• Working level proficiency in written and spoken English and German. Other language skills advantageous
• Willingness to work in defense & surveillance projects
