You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Support ABB’s front-end organizations in using ABB’s Automation Systems, with a focus on the DCS systems ABB Ability System 800xA and Symphony Plus, ABB Ability Edgenius , and lifecycle services.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, including evaluating problem descriptions, analyzing log files, and performing remote diagnostics in the installed base.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Product Development, and ABB front-end organizations, to address complex technical issues and improve products.
  • Build and maintain a technical infrastructure that supports you and the global team in developing and testing solutions, as well as reproducing product issues.
  • Build and maintain technical competence in ABB’s DCS product portfolio.
  • Contribute to competence development for local and global support teams.

Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience in process automation, industrial communication (OPC, PROFIBUS, PROFINET, Modbus TCP) is required. Knowledge of ABB DCS products such as ABB Ability System 800xA and Symphony Plus would be beneficial
  • Exposure to cybersecurity solutions, virtualization, and edge/cloud technologies
  • High level of self-motivation, curiosity, and a strong willingness to learn about new technologies
  • Ability to demonstrate ownership, apply a problem-solving and solution-oriented mindset, and communicate effectively
  • Negotiation-level English and fluent German, both written and spoken
  • Willingness to travel up to 5%
